Location: Ready Room, USS Yorktown
Timeline: Mission Day 03, 1058 Hours

ON: [[Ready Room, USS Yorktown, Mission Day 03, 1058 Hours]]

The four men filed in silently, one right after the other, as each of them made their way from the main bridge to the privacy of the captain's ready room. There really hadn't been much time to consider their situation until now on account of having to deal with more immediate concerns such as the mysterious energy sphere which had been pursuing them. Now that they were more or less out of danger for the time being, Tobias knew he needed to address a few things sooner rather than later.

Tobias wasted little time in crossing the room to take up position just behind the chair of his desk. Instead of taking a seat, the El-Aurian merely rested his arms across the top of the chair's backing as he surveyed the three men who had followed him from the bridge. Lieutenant Commander Nor'el and Lieutenant Commander Thompson were there because he had a feeling what was discussed in the next several minutes might very well require their input. It was the third individual, however, that Tobias was most interested in hearing from at the moment.

As they had all moved into the room, Joe hung back slightly. Like the the captain, Joe opted not to sit; from his position near the back of the group, he could keep an eye on their visitor.

Xavier crossed over to the side of the Captains desk and stood between the desk and wall of the room. Looking back towards their visitor and Joe he had a good view of the room to see what was going on.

It didn't take the omnipotence that went with being a member of the Q Continuum for Junior (PNPC) to notice the looks he'd been getting ever since he first appeared on the Yorktown's bridge. In fact, the way the three men were scrutinizing him really reminded him of the reactions he'd gotten when his father first dropped him off with Aunt Kathy several years back, though he certainly hadn't cared as much what they thought about him then as he did now.

"So..." he began slowly, trying to ease away from the awkward silence by sounding somewhat casual.

"So you endangered this ship and her crew by your little games," Joe said coldly. He crossed his arms. "What do you want?" It might seem presumptuous for him to be demanding answers from the Q, but Joe was tasked with the safety of this vessel and he didn't appreciate being toyed with.

"I already told you...that wasn't me," Junior replied tersely. He supposed he could understand the commander's reaction, given the man was supposed to be the ship's Chief Security/Tactical Officer, but preconceptions like that were the whole reason he had gotten into this mess in the first place. "...and I wish you'd stop judging me by my father," he added angrily, "In case you haven't noticed, he and I are not the same person."

"I would like to thank you for finally stepping in and helping us there. That being said, we all know that you know more than your letting onto." Xavier took a moments break to observe everyone's expression before continuing. "We need to know what you do know about whats going on without all these subtle nuances."

Tobias gave an inaudible sigh. He had been silently observing the exchange between his two senior-most officers and Q Junior since they'd entered the room together only moments before. It came as no surprise to the El-Aurian that the overall tenor on both sides remained cautious, defensive, even downright adversarial at times judging by the way each side seemed to be distancing themselves from the other. Those who had previously encountered the entity known as Q had almost always described him as being confident acting out of a certainty which came with having nearly unlimited control of space, matter, and time. Yet there was something about the way in which Q Junior was responding to the situation that still didn't seem to be fitting quite right, almost as if the relatively young entity wasn't entirely confident about what was going on at all.

"Mister Nor'el, Mister Thompson...would you mind giving us a moment," Tobias said when Junior did not immediately reply to the Executive Officer's question.

Joe hesitated a moment, not quite trusting the Q with the captain. However, he did trust the captain, and didn't want to contradict his judgement. "Yes, Sir," Joe replied, stepping towards the door with a last wary glance at Q Junior.

Xavier thought for a moment before speaking up or moving. He silently weighed the options and his duty to make sure the Captain came to no harm and determined that the risk was low enough that he could step outside the room. "Aye, Sir," Xavier replied, as he headed towards the door leaving the room just after Joe.

Silence descended upon the room as the two men disappeared onto the bridge. Tobias waited until the doors had closed before turning his full attention once more to the relatively young entity standing before him. It was clear they were not going to get anywhere by casting suspicion upon one another and something told him neither of them could afford to waste any more time than they already had. "Alright," Tobias said slowly, "Let's start from the beginning..."
