Coming Aboard

Posted on Tue Apr 24th, 2012 @ 7:40am by Lieutenant JG Miranda Blackfur

Mission: Episode 1.0 - "Enduring Legacy"
Location: Starbase / USS Yorktown

Miranda moved through the tempory quarters, making sure the place was free of her stuff carefully packed sitting in a simple transporter buffer carry all. She glanced at the Data-PADD that contained her orders for reassignment to the new ship.

She paused and looked out into space at the stars and the few ships that were visible. Determining which one was the Yorktown. She had read it history. She wondered if Admiral Iluver was going to be the Captain of the ship or some other person from Fleet.

Miranda shook her head and glanced at the time, seeing it was 01 hundred hours both station time and ship time. At least she had her Den assignment aboard the USS Yorktown and didn't have to worry about waking anyone up aboard the ship. Just dealing with a skeleton night shift was much more easier to deal with. And no hurry to meet with the Captian of the ship at her leasure after she had gotten the feel of the ship.

Several hours later...

Miranda flew the last remaining shuttle aboard the USS Yorktown. She took a simple exterior tour of the ship before landing in the hanger bay. She settled the shuttle down on the vacant Shuttle ready pad and let any other crew and personel disembark first as she powered down the shuttle to stand-by mode to be moved by the shuttle service crew to it's parking storage space.

She stood up when the shuttle interior fell quiet and quietly disembarked from the shuttle, nodding to the senior non-com of the shuttle service crew. "She's all your's, Chief." Giving the man a soft smile as she slipped past him and his crew, heading towards the hanger bay exit and into the ship proper.

Moving through the ship, enjoying the quiet time to listen to the ship's harmonics and vibrations to her den to get settled in. It was a pleasant time when the ship was at rest. No worries, just a casual stroll through the ship.

Maybe a quick trip to the bridge, before settling in for the night as she wasn't due to be aboard the ship at 10 hundred hours. Plenty of time to get settled and relax, see the ship's bridge and maybe a nightcap in the lounge before settling down in her quarters for the remainder of the time before her official checking in and reporting.
