Mission:
Episode 1.1 - "MystiQue"
Location: USS Yorktown
Once the Asteriod was discovered, It seamed that the meeting was pretty much over with with "Q" Junior. Having gotten permission to leave, Miranda left the Briefing room to oversee the ship in maintaining position near the Asteriod. With a good set of Helm's pilot in proper scheduling time, rotated through to keep the USS Yorktown on station a few hundred kilometers from the Asteriod.
Miranda sat looking over her department reports in her office in the shuttle bay control room. As far from the bridge as possible. It seamed that the Flight Re-Certs were coming along very nicely. Ship had it full compliment of shuttles and the additional fighter group with their ships. So far there was no inter-department squabbles had arisen between the two factions.
She looked out the viewing window that overlooked the main shuttle bay, seeing the fighters on one side in their little group and the tightly packed shuttles taking up the rest of the shuttle bay with makeshift walkways over the shuttles as there was no room for anyone to get between them. Cables with little control panels on the railing of the walkways and the other end connected to the shuttle below them to provide scheduled check-ups without having to climb down between the shuttles.
Miranda smiled softly as she like the ingenuity of her shuttle crew to rig something up like that. Even the Fighter crews did the same thing with their fighters and raised their support equipment above the fighters onto their walkways, freeing up even more room, so their techs can get actual hands on their birds under their control.
She leaned back and sipped her glass of chilled milk, watching the shuttle and fighter crews go about their business in keeping the peace and fostering goodwill between them by helping each other out. Watching as another set of fighters ease out of their slot and then take off for their CAP, semi-wishing she could fly one of those fighters. But she knew her job was here on the ship to oversee her area of responcibility.
Through her open door of her office that seperated her from Shuttle control room, She could hear the chatter between the fighters as they patroled and Major Drake Lexon (PNPC) was overseeing the his flight Operation.
Miranda sat the glass down on it drink coaster as she thought back to the meeting. She wrinkled her nose at as now the Captian and "Q" Junior was about the ship together doing something together. Still what was disgussed between them, who knows. Did "Q" Junior have the Captain enthralled? But then who could tell with these Godlike Beings. Was there a way to defeat them? Did they have a weakness to be exploited?
She turned to the viewport once to watch the returning fighters ease into the Shuttle bay and into their vacant slot to be serviced and prepped while they waited for their rotation of CAP. Sighing softly, she finished up her reports and set them to the XO to look over before they ended up on the CO's desk.
Miranda stood up and left the office, letting Major Drake Lexon (PNPC) to have access to her office for the Pilot's debriefings. Nodding to him as she placed remainder of her drink into the replicator recycler, heading on up to the bridge to take her place at helm for her watch.
Entering the Bridge, she paused long enough to drop off the PADD's that contained her reports, before continuing to relieve the onduty helm's person.
"How's it going?" She spoke softly to the current onduty helm's.
"All quiet and nothing major happening." Helm's spoke as he stood up and stretched. "Just a few odd currents now and then that requires manuevering thrusters to keep position."
Miranda nodded, wishing they was in open space, not within a Golden Discontinuty were the view was limited and relying majority of scanners and interments that may or may not be giving precice information to make sound decisions and actions. "Get some relaxation in, cause time flies whether or nor we want it to," Taking the vacated seat. "I've helm's control."
Letting the helm's know that he was free to go. Standing there looking abit indecisive, She looked up at him, nodding at him to spit it out. "What's with the Captain and "Q"?"
"I dunno. But not alot of information was shared in the breifing." Miranda spoke softly, "I think he was to intimaded by being in the spotlight that was beyond his control."
"What do I tell the rest of the Crew?" He asked back, just as softly.
Miranda scowled as she didn't know what to say about that. She wanted her crew to be informed as much as she knew. But it wasn't much to pass on. And what she did know, only brought up more questions and she had to respond. "I honestly dont know. Just keep up the good work and that I really appreciate the effort everyone bringing forth to this.... these circumstances." Making eye contact with her subordinate. "Now shoo, before I make you take my shift." smiling at him as he hurried off the bridge.
