Mission: Episode 1.0 - "Enduring Legacy"
Location: USS Yorktown
Timeline: MD 07 1430 hrs

Shuttle Flight Control / Temp CFO Office USS Yorktown

Miranda sighed as the door closed behind her, while moving deeper into her office. ~~What's next on the list..~~ as her stomach growled at missing lunch. Glancing at the time, taking note once again she had missed chow. "Food!" She set the Eval PADD on her desk, saving the information so it whont get lost.

Maybe she should've gave him higher marks. But a Cadet still in training flew with more assurance and dealt with the shipping lanes of the Aldani System. She looked at the PADD Before her with the Captian's name on it. She picked up the padd and secured it, before leaving the Office to get a bite to eat.

Lounge

Miranda entered the lounge and moved gracefully towards the Bar, nodding to those she knew. Coming to a rest at the bar, "Beef Sandwich with lettuce and the trimmings, Milk, slightly chilled." Settling at the bar after a brief glance about the room.

She looked thoughtful as she rested her elbows on the bar and her chin in the cups of her pawlike hands. She was relaxed as best she could while waiting for her meal.

"Something troubling you, Lieutenant?" Bartender spoke as he set her food before her, taking notice she was quiet, unlike various other officers who came in at odd hours wanting to speak with someone other than Fleet or crew.

Miranda picked up her sandwich, looking up at the Bartender. "Aye..." then fell quiet as she took a bite of her sandwich and chewed. She was definitely troubled as she had to finish up the assecement and send the report up. "... I was abit rough on the Ship's Captian for Flight-Recert."

"Not the Aldani Run again?" Bartender rolled his eyes as other's had came in complaining about that run.

Miranda nodded, "It provides a good test bed for Flight Recert. It has just about everything you could ask for, even an un-planned emergancy could pop up unsuspectingly." Then taking a drink of her milk.

Bartender nodded, "It is unusual for a Recert to actually use a shuttle. Most just use the holodeck and throw in alot of emergancy situations. Why the change of facilities?"

"Holo-deck is heavily regulated with safety protocols and alot of people take as a game, where in a shuttle you take it more seriously and use better judgement, instead of throwing caution to the wind." Miranda spoke thoughtfully, taking another bite of her food. Almost inhaling it along with the milk.

Bartender nodded. "Just becareful not to make the Captian your enemy. Or this could be a tough tour of duty." He refilled her glass with milk.

"It was much of a test for me also. I guess he wanted to see if I've integrity to do my job properly. Well he gotten results he was probaly not expecting." Miranda spoke softly, smiling her thanks for the refill.

Bartender laughed softly, "The two-edged sword of duty... It cuts both ways."

Miranda smiled with a soft chuffing sound. "Yeah, I'm waiting for it to swing in my direction. But if he wants to raise his score for the Re-Cert, he has the option to. Either with me or another Quailified Shuttle Pilot." Finishes off the milk.

"Yeah," Bartender agreed, watching her stand and move gracefully from the Lounge. Mutters softly, "She's gonna need all nine of her lives..." turning back to his work in cleaning up the used dishes.

Miranda ears twitched at that as the doors to the lounge swished shut behind her. She made her way back to the Shuttle Flight Control Center in the back of the ship. Pulling out a unused PADD and began to type in her thoughts on the flight with the CO of the ship.

Thoughts & Report:

The preflight was a quick one and alot of places were missed. Most pilots would pull out the manuel and used the Pre-flight checklist and go down the list. At least he did a diagnostic before proceeding to the next step. The egress and contacting the Shuttle flight control. That went pretty smooth and he knows what he was doing during the flight even though he let the shuttle drift off course, making adjustment to keep heading in the general direction towards Aldani System and sector. A better pilot would gotten back on course and adjust the route to place them back on target for the designated entry point. Even though everyone knew we was going to the Aldani System and the route we was taking, he failed to file a flight plan with Flight Control who would've sent it on ahead to Aldani Sector Flight Control. Several degrading marks there.

Am I a perfectionist who expect high standards of everyone and to include myself? If I am, at least I'm still here to face the benefits and consquences of it.

Giving a soft snarl as she saved the what she had imputed, stepping off the turbolift and walking the short distance to the Shuttle bay Control Room and offices.

Report Continues:

The detour to the asteriod was kept from the pilot during flight. He failed to transmit an adjustment to the flightplan to the Aldani Sector and to the ship. Even though both knew of the ongoing testing to involve the landing on the Astriod. Another set of blackmarks lowering his score abit. As Captian, He is vital to the ship's security and wellfare of the crew. He should've at least made the attempt to call to inform of the change of route. End

She looked over the report, fine tuning it to correct minor errors and giving brief correct procedures as the copy of the Eval Checklist was included in the report. She smiled and finished up the report and filed a copy in Personel Records and one to the Captian along with the list of who was quailified, not quailified and those that needed to take one still.
