Detapa Council Approves Historic Resolution

The Cardassian Detapa Council today approved a historic resolution in support of ongoing relief efforts along the Romulan Neutral Zone. The measure will allocate six Groumal-class frieghters full of much needed supplies for relief and recovery of ailing Romulan colony worlds.

Federation negotiating teams have been working closely with their Cardassian counterparts to bring about this greatly anticipated action. Diplomatic team leader Commissioner Jarvis applauded its passage.

"This resolution is a good-faith effort to provide much needed support for our efforts in aiding the Romulan Empire. It demonstrates just how far the Cardassians have come in the last decade that they are willing to share their own limited resources for those in need," Jarvis said.

The office of President Nanietta Bacco issued an official statement praising the efforts of the Federation Diplomatic Corps as well as the Detapa Council. "We acknowledge the contribution made today by the people of the Cardassian Union and look forward to continued cooperation between our peoples." President Bacco has called upon the Federation Council to pursue the development of a joint-resolution which would lay the groundwork for similar exchanges in the future.
