Awarded to personnel who succeed in situations of ordinance disposal, in which loss of life or severe injury is imminently possible – the crewmember cannot have been ordered to do this. Also validly awarded to personnel who suffer serious injury while attempting to save lives in this manner. This award can be given posthumously.
